Creating a website on WordPress.com is fast, free and simple. Here is a quick guide.
Start off by going to wordpress.com. Now click the Create Website button. You will see a list of topic categories. Select the one that fits your website best and then select a specific topic. After this you will be asked to select a theme. Click on the one you like the most, but don’t worry – changing it later will be as simple as a few clicks. You will also have bigger selection. The next step is much more important. You will have to find and choose a domain. There are two options – a free example.wordpress.com domain or a paid custom one (example.com, example.org etc.). You can also start off for free and buy a custom domain later. Remember to choose a good domain. It should be short and easy to memorize. The next step is selecting a plan. You will have three choices. It’s best to choose the free one (you will be able to upgrade later). The final step is creating your WordPress account. Enter your email adress, edit the username and select a password. You have now successfully created a website.
After logging in you will see your website. You will notice that the title is the same as your username. You can change that by clicking on My Site in the top left corner and then finding Customize next to Themes. On the customizing screen you will see a Site Title, Tagline, and Logo option. Click on that and change the title. Now select Save & Publish and click the X in the top left corner. You will be redirected to your updated webpage.
Congratulations! You now have your own and completely free WordPress website. Hopefully this was easy for you. Way to go!
