Taking photos on a plain white background is easier than it would seem. Here is a simple way to that at home.
What you will need
All you need is:
- a desk lamp
- a white sheet of paper
- a camera
- an image editor (optional)
Making a mini-studio
For this kind of photography we will need a small studio. Place the bent sheet of paper against the floor and a wall (you can also use the inside of a cupboard) and secure it with sticky tape. Remember not to crease it. Now put the desk lamp above the sheet so that it shines on the object you are photographing. Remember to keep the background lit up for a pure white colour. If you have two lamps use one to shine on the object and the other one for the background.
Place your object on the sheet of paper and turn on the lamps. Now take a few pictures from different perspectives. If you’re not planning to edit your photo later remember to set the right white balance for natural colors and make sure that the picture is framed correctly.
Editing the picture can make it look much better. Try cropping and rotating the photo. You might want to change the warmth or raise the saturation and contrast. For better whites increase the highlights.
