The Galaxy S8 is almost official by now with leaked images and specification lists available all around. Today a new handful of photos from SlashLeaks has joined the party, giving us a close-up look at the upcoming flagship smartphone.
These new photos are clearly showing us both the Galaxy S8 and the larger Galaxy S8+ side by side. We can also take a look at the brand new always-on display and hardware of the devices. There is nothing new here with the front being occupied by the curved AMOLED display and two narrow bezels housing the speaker, selfie camera, iris scanner and sensors. The sides of the phone make room for the physical power button and volume keys while the back is where the camera, flash module and fingerprint scanner can be found. There is also a headphone jack and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
The new always-on display shows a slightly tweaked clock along with the date, battery status and notification icons. There is also some kind of pattern going on here, similarly to what the S7 offered. At the very bottom we can also see the software home button which is also part of the always-on screen.
