Thanks to Android Authority, we are able to take a look at a render of Samsung’s upcoming mid-range device, the Galaxy A5 2017.
The Galaxy A5 2017 looks strikingly similar to this year’s Samsung Galaxy S7. Both phones share the same button placement, curved glass on both sides and the plastic antenna lines. The main differences are the placement of the headphone jack and selfie camera (both have been moved compared to other Samsung devices) and the side-mounted speaker, which seems to be a pretty good idea, considering how easy it was to block the bottom-mounted one. Another visible improvement is the camera lens, which is now completely flush with the back glass (thanks to a slightly thicker body). Just like most new devices, the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 will feature a USB Type-C connector.
According to Android Authority, the device will come with 3GB of RAM, the Exynos 7880 CPU and a Mali-T860MP4 GPU. SamMobile suggests 16GB of internal storage and a 3000 mAh battery. The display will most probably be a 5.2″ AMOLED panel.
The device is expected to be launched late this year or at the beginning of 2017 (that would make more sense, considering the name).
