Facebook Messenger is one of the most popular internet messaging apps right now. The new update to it brings a few features to make chatting even more fun.
The most important new feature is Messenger Days. Just like Instagram Stories, this lets you add pictures, videos, stickers, drawings and text to your Day. Your media is available to all Facebook friends and disappears after 24 hours. You can view your friends’ Days as many times as you want, but there is an inbuilt timer that switches to the next picture or video every 10 seconds. You can easily overcome this by holding your finger on the screen. The Days functionality is available right from the home page, where there is a bar with your friends’ Days above the conversations list. You can add your own Days from there or by simply swiping down to see the camera viewfinder.
Better stickers functionality
Another area where changes are noticeable is the stickers set. First of all, there is now a handy search bar at the top of the stickers list, letting you easily find the right image for your message or Day without having to dig through long lists. Facebook is also adding regional stickers for many countries. You can rotate and resize stickers or even create your own text bubbles. All of this is available right from the camera viewfinder with a live preview.
As for most of you the new version of the app will not be available on the Play Store, use the button below to download the beta release and install it on your Android device. If you are using an iPhone, you will most probably have to wait a couple of weeks for the new version of the app to be officially available for download.
